A builder ordering roof or floor trusses for a residential development is not choosing a supplier based on visual appeal alone. The site answered all of those questions efficiently without overcomplicating the experience for a buyer who knew what they needed and wanted to confirm quickly that Tech-Wood could deliver it. The mobile-first design prioritised fast load times and easy navigation for users accessing the site from a construction site environment, where data speeds and user patience are both limited.

Process

The project began with a discovery session covering the Tech-Wood product range, the builder buyer profile, the sales process from initial inquiry to delivery, the certifications and industry memberships that supported credibility with the target audience, and the content that the Tech-Wood team could produce and maintain without ongoing agency support. The sitemap was built to reflect the product range across roof trusses, floor trusses, panelized walls, and I-joist floor systems, with an about section covering the team, the facility, the values, and the COR certification and Western Wood Truss Association and BILD Calgary Region memberships that distinguish Tech-Wood in the Alberta market. The content was written to speak directly to builders in the practical, no-nonsense language appropriate for a construction industry audience, with the company’s core values, including doing what they say they are going to do, communicating throughout the process, and finishing what they start, woven into the copy as proof points rather than marketing claims. The site was built in WordPress to allow the Tech-Wood team to manage content updates without ongoing development dependency.
