Canmore

Real Estate
Branding

Traverse at Three Sisters is a Canmore development project positioned within one of the most significant and storied land holdings in the Canadian Rockies, the Three Sisters Mountain Village area at the eastern gateway to Canmore, in the shadow of the iconic Three Sisters peaks. Blair and Co. developed the full brand identity for Traverse at Three Sisters, creating a visual language grounded in the mountain landscape, the history of the land, and the aspiration of a development that earns its place in a location as remarkable as this one. The result is a brand identity and complete stationery suite that communicates the rugged beauty of the setting and the considered quality of what is being built there.

Canmore is one of the most competitive real estate markets in Canada, and the bar for brand quality in a mountain development context is exceptionally high. Buyers considering a purchase at Three Sisters are not comparing Traverse against a suburb. They are comparing it against a lifestyle, against the mountains themselves, and against the idea of what it means to own property in the Canadian Rockies. The brand needed to feel as though it belonged to this specific place, not as a generic mountain aesthetic imported from a design template, but as a mark that could only have come from a development located where the Bow Valley opens up and the Three Sisters define the horizon. The engraved-wood visual style of the primary mark, the mountain illustration, the craft paper and dark leather tones of the stationery palette, and the name Traverse itself all worked together to communicate a brand rooted in exploration, adventure, and the kind of permanence that comes from building in a place that has always been worth arriving at.

Methodology

Blair and Co. developed the Traverse at Three Sisters brand identity around a mountain illustration mark built to evoke the Three Sisters peaks directly, rendered in an engraving-inspired style that gave the brand the feel of something handmade and lasting rather than digitally produced and disposable. The Traverse wordmark was set in a typeface combining bold slab-serif confidence with a hand-crafted warmth, appropriate for a development that sits at the intersection of rugged mountain character and refined residential quality. The brand palette of deep walnut brown, warm kraft paper, and aged gold gave every touchpoint a material richness that aligned with the natural textures of the landscape: wood, stone, leather, and the weathered warmth of a mountain lodge. The complete stationery suite, covering a presentation box with wood-effect texture, business cards, letterhead, notebooks, mugs, a carabiner keychain, hang tags, stickers, envelope, and pen, was designed as a unified brand environment in which every physical touchpoint reinforced the character and aspiration of the Traverse development. The carabiner keychain and hang tag were deliberate inclusions, grounding the brand in the active outdoor culture that defines life in Canmore and signalling that Traverse was designed for people who actually use the mountains they are buying into.

Process

Blair and Co. developed the Traverse brand identity through a structured discovery and concept process covering the development vision, the buyer profile, the competitive landscape of Canmore and Bow Valley real estate branding, and the physical and cultural character of the Three Sisters location. The mountain illustration mark was developed and refined before the stationery system was built, with careful attention to the engraving style ensuring the mark read cleanly at every scale from a sticker to a full presentation box cover. The wood-effect texture treatment of the primary presentation box was developed to create a tactile and visual connection to the landscape at the first point of physical contact with the brand, before a prospect opened the box or read a word of copy. All collateral was designed as a production-ready suite, with material and finish specifications coordinated to achieve the warm, natural, handcrafted quality of the brand across every substrate and print process.

Outcome

Traverse at Three Sisters launched with a brand identity that gives the development a visual presence worthy of one of the most remarkable locations in the Canadian Rockies. The mountain illustration mark, the engraving-inspired aesthetic, and the natural material palette position Traverse as a brand that understands and honours the landscape it is building in, giving buyers a sense of place and permanence before they have seen a floor plan or a price. The complete stationery suite gave the Traverse sales and management team, led by General Manager Jason Walker, the brand tools to represent the development with consistency and credibility across every prospect and stakeholder interaction.
