The Brief

The Leads Are Not Gone. They Are Just Taking Their Time.

JUNE 2025

Every June a client tells me the same thing. The leads have gone quiet, so something must be wrong. I have learned to slow them down before they react. The interest is still there. People are just taking longer to decide.

Here in Calgary I see more supply now across resale, rental, and new homes than buyers had a few years back. That is good for the market. It also changes my job. When people have more to choose from, they feel less rush to pick.

That does not mean demand is weak. It means buyers are choosier. They want more proof, a clearer reason to pick one builder or business or service over the next one down the street.

So the work shifts. I am no longer only trying to get someone's attention. I am trying to hold it long enough for them to make up their mind.

That is why follow-up, remarketing, email, content, and a landing page that actually says something matter more than they used to. The first click almost never closes anything. The trust gets built on the second, third, and fourth time you show up.

Service Tip: Content and Email Keep a Warm Lead From Going Cold

When buyers take their time, the business with the best follow-up wins. Not the loudest one. The one that is still there when the buyer is finally ready.

People undervalue content and email because neither one pays off the same day. But in a long sales cycle, I have watched them do more work than anything else in the mix.

Someone reads your site in June and does not call until September. With no way to stay in front of them, that interest just evaporates. With a steady content and email plan, you are still there while they weigh their options.

This is where a monthly newsletter, a project update, a bit of market commentary, or something genuinely useful earns its keep. It gives people a reason to keep half an eye on you without feeling sold to every week.

The best systems I have built do not chase volume. They build continuity. They quietly remind people who you are and why your work matters, so you come to mind when the timing finally lines up.

Client Feature: Blair Plus Real Estate

Blair Plus Real Estate works in a market where trust, timing, and visibility all pull weight. Nobody buys or sells a home on a whim. Most people research for weeks before they ever pick up the phone.

The job was to build marketing that walked alongside that decision instead of barging into it. The brand had to stay visible, credible, and useful while people moved from curious to ready.

So we focused on a steadier content and brand presence. Market updates, listing strategy, positioning, and educational pieces all did their part to reinforce expertise over time.

Instead of leaning on one-off campaigns, we backed ongoing visibility. In real estate that matters, because the person who is not ready today can turn into your strongest lead three months from now.

What came out of it is a presence that reads as informed, polished, and consistent. It gives people confidence before the first conversation even starts.

Western Canadian Market Note: More Inventory Is Making Buyers More Patient

June gave me more proof that rising inventory is changing how buyers behave across Alberta. In Calgary, better supply is handing buyers more choice, and row and apartment-style homes are sitting above their long-term inventory trends. Edmonton looks much the same, with more listings and more choice heading into summer.

More choice does not kill demand. It takes the urgency out of it. Buyers who used to move fast can now compare, wait, and negotiate with more nerve.

For anyone marketing real estate, the follow-up window is getting longer. A buyer who does not convert on day one is not lost. They usually just want more information, more reassurance, or more time.

That is exactly where remarketing and email pull their weight. They keep a listing or a brand in view after that first visit. In a patient market, staying visible is the difference between being forgotten and being chosen.

Summer rewards the steady ones. The brands that keep educating, keep following up, and keep showing their value will be the ones in the room when buyers are ready to act.
